How to use this tool

Slide from 2 to 12. The palette is recalculated straight away and sorted from the most common color.

FAQ
How does it pick the colors?
It shrinks a copy of the image, groups similar pixels with median cut, then refines the groups with a few rounds of k-means. Each color shows its share of the picture.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The file is decoded and analysed in this tab with a canvas. Nothing is sent and analytics are off on this page.
How many colors can I get?
From 2 to 12. A flat logo may return fewer, because identical colors are merged.
How do I copy a color?
Click a swatch to copy its HEX code, or use Copy all for the whole palette, one code per line.
Are transparent pixels counted?
No. Pixels that are more than half transparent are skipped, so a PNG cut-out gives the colors of the subject.
