How to use this tool

Hash text or a file in this tab. MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512.

  1. Open Hash generator

    SHA-256 is the default. Paste on the right or open a file.

  2. Enter the text

    Hex and Base64 digests appear as you type. Switch algorithm from the menu.

  3. Copy the digest

    Copy hex (or Base64). Hashing a file never uploads it.

Can I hash text here?

Yes. MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, and SHA-512 run in this tab.

Can I hash a file?

Yes. Open file reads it locally and hashes the bytes.

Is MD5 safe for passwords?

No. MD5 and SHA-1 are broken for security. Use them for checksums, not password storage.
