About this test

The idea of five love languages was popularized by counselor Gary Chapman in 1992: people tend to feel loved through words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service or physical touch, and partners often speak different ones.

This independent quiz was written for cv.cm. Share your ranking with a partner or friend and ask them to take it too: knowing each other's top language is the useful part.

FAQ

What are the five love languages?

Words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service, and physical touch.

Can I have more than one love language?

Yes. Most people have one or two that matter most and others that matter a little. The chart shows all five.

Is the love language idea backed by research?

Studies give it mixed support: partners who show love in many ways tend to be happier overall. It works best as a conversation starter, not a rule.

Is this the official quiz?

No. It is an independent quiz built on the same five categories, not affiliated with Gary Chapman or his publisher.
