Ideal weight
Each formula sets a weight at 5 ft and adds a fixed amount per inch above it.
Formulas from drug-dosing tables, not personal targets. Muscle, frame and age all matter; ask a doctor.

Pick Male or Female and type the height. Switch to imperial for feet and inches; the results then show in pounds.
Read the range, not one number
The formulas differ by a few kilograms; the BMI row shows the healthy band. Copy puts all five lines on the clipboard.
FAQ
Which formulas are used?
Devine (1974), Robinson (1983), Miller (1983) and Hamwi (1964). Each gives a base weight at 5 feet and adds a fixed amount per inch above it, with separate numbers for men and women.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The math runs in this tab.
Why do the formulas disagree?
They were fitted to different groups, mostly for drug dosing and insurance tables, so they differ by a few kilograms. Treat the spread as the range, not any single number as the target.
What is the BMI range row?
The weights that give a BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 at your height, the WHO healthy range for adults. It does not account for muscle mass or age.
Does it work under 5 feet?
The formulas are defined from 5 feet (152.4 cm) upward; below that the tool extrapolates the same per-inch step down to 140 cm, so treat those results as rough.
