FAQ
How is the fuel cost calculated?
Distance is turned into litres with your car's economy, then multiplied by the price per litre. 300 km at 7 L/100 km uses 21 litres; at 1.60 a litre that is 33.60.

Which economy units work?
L/100 km, km/L and US mpg. Price can be per litre or per US gallon; the tool converts between them.
How do I split the cost?
Enter the number of people. Cost per person divides the total evenly, including the driver.
Why is the real cost higher?
Economy figures are for mixed driving; city traffic, air conditioning, roof racks and a loaded car use more. Add about 10% for a safe estimate.
