Add a watermark to photos

ID copies and photos stay in this tab. Export also drops EXIF. Closing the page discards them.

How to use this tool

Stamp text on a photo or ID copy in this tab. Files never leave the browser.

  1. Open Image watermark

Use the drop zone on the left. PNG, JPEG, WebP, and GIF work.

  2. Add a photo

Drop a file or click the zone. A preview appears as soon as the browser can decode it.

  3. Type the mark

For an ID copy, tile “for [org] use only”. For a shop photo, a name or logo is enough.

  4. Check the preview and export

When the mark sits where you want, download one file or a ZIP of the batch. An invisible watermark is added by default; change its text or check a file under Invisible watermark.

FAQ

Does adding a watermark upload my photos?

No. ID copies and photos stay in this tab. The canvas stamps the mark here. Closing the tab discards the files. Export also strips EXIF.

What is the invisible watermark, and can it trace a leak?

On export the tool hides the same text as the visible mark (or your own, such as “Bank A”), plus “cv.cm” and the export date, in the image brightness. It is on by default and can be switched off under Invisible watermark. If a copy turns up elsewhere, drop it on “Check an image for a hidden mark” to read it, even after the visible mark was painted over. It survives JPEG compression and resizing; cropping or rotation can break it. Short text holds up best. It is a lead, not legal proof.

Can I watermark an ID or passport copy?

Yes. Use For-use only so a tiled “for [org] use only” line covers the photo. Open Redact to black out the ID number too. Work stays in this tab. A watermark is a deterrent, not a legal guarantee. Some offices still want an unmarked copy.

Can I remove a watermark?

No. This tool only adds a mark. It will not erase watermarks from photos.

Which formats work?

PNG, JPEG, WebP, and GIF in. Export PNG, JPEG, or WebP. Text, a logo, or both. Add a batch and download one file or a ZIP.
