How does the AI upscaler work?
It runs Real-ESRGAN, a super-resolution network, on your GPU or CPU. It enlarges 4× and redraws edges and textures; 2× averages that down for a cleaner result.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The 2–5 MB model downloads once; the image is processed in this tab and never leaves your device.
What is the largest output?
Up to about 16 megapixels (for example 4096 × 4096), the limit Safari can draw. Bigger inputs are scaled to fit first.
Photo or Anime / art?
Photo suits camera pictures and screenshots. Anime / art keeps flat colors and outlines in illustrations, comics and game art.
Can it recover details that were never there?
No upscaler can. It makes pictures sharper and cleaner, but small text or faces it cannot see are guessed, not restored.
