FAQ

How do I test my webcam?

Press Start camera and allow access. You should see yourself in the preview; the panel shows the camera's name, the real resolution and the frame rate. Take a photo to check sharpness and colour.

The preview is black or the camera is not found. What now?

Close other apps that use the camera (video calls, OBS), check the privacy shutter or the camera key on your laptop, pick another camera in the list, and allow camera access for the browser in your system settings.

Why is the resolution lower than I chose?

Your camera does not offer that size, so the browser picks its nearest mode. The panel always shows the size you actually get.

Why is the frame rate low?

Most webcams drop to 15 fps or less in dim light to expose longer. Add light, or pick a lower resolution; USB 2.0 hubs can limit 1080p too.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The video stays in this tab, and photos are made on your device. Nothing is sent or stored.
