About this data
Purchasing power parity (PPP) converts each currency at the rate that buys the same goods and services as one US dollar buys in the United States. It removes most of the effect of price levels, so it compares living standards better than GDP at market exchange rates.
Small financial centres and oil exporters top the list because their output is large next to the number of residents, not because every resident is that rich. Each row shows the latest year the country reported.
FAQ
Which country has the highest GDP per capita at PPP?
Singapore, with 163,354 international dollars per person in 2025, followed by Luxembourg (156,542).
What is the difference between GDP per capita and GDP per capita PPP?
Plain GDP per capita uses market exchange rates. The PPP version adjusts for what money buys locally, so poorer countries with low prices rank higher than they do on the nominal list.
Which country has the lowest GDP per capita at PPP?
In this list, Burundi, at 1,248 international dollars per person.
