How to calculate running pace
You ran a distance in a time, or you want to finish in a time. You will turn that into pace per kilometre and per mile, and see what the same pace gives for 5K, 10K, half and marathon. 10 km in 55:00 is 5:30 /km. Nothing leaves this tab.
Open the pace calculator with the numbers from your watch or race plan. Type time as h:mm:ss or mm:ss and pace as m:ss. Race predictions assume an even pace. Nothing is uploaded.

Pick what you want to find
Pace = time ÷ distance. Time = pace × distance. Distance = time ÷ pace. Decide which one you are missing; you fill in the other two.
Pace = time ÷ distance: 55:00 over 10 km is 5:30 per km or 8:51 per mile. Open Pace calculator on cv.cm
Pace is selected with 10 km in 55:00. The result and race times sit on the right. Nothing is uploaded.
Open Pace calculatorEnter distance and time
Type 10 for distance and 55:00 for time. The pace reads 05:30 per km and 08:51 per mile, and the speed 10.91 km/h. Switch Unit to mi for miles.
Or enter pace to get a time
Set Calculate to Time, type the distance and a pace such as 5:00. A half marathon at 5:00 /km finishes in 1:45:29.
Read the race predictions
At 5:30 /km: 5K 27:30, 10K 55:00, half 1:56:02, marathon 3:52:04. Real races slow over distance, so plan a longer race a little slower than a short one.
At 5:30 /km: 5K 27:30, 10K 55:00, half 1:56:02, marathon 3:52:04. Copy the result
Copy puts distance, time, both paces, speed and the four race times on the clipboard for a training log.
FAQ
Can I calculate running pace free online?

How do I convert pace per km to per mile?
Multiply by 1.609. The page shows both at once.
Are the race predictions reliable?
