How to join audio files / merge MP3s

You need one file, not a playlist: intro then song, two voice notes, a bed under a voicemail. List order is playback order. Export is WAV.

6-minute read

Today's result One WAV that plays the clips in the order you set, verified from start to end, with the originals still on disk.

Open join when the clips are on disk. You need two or more. Later clips are resampled to the first clip's rate. Download is WAV. Nothing is uploaded.

  1. Put the clips in playback order

Intro first, bed last. Rename if it helps. You will still be able to move rows after you drop them.

  3. Drop two or more files

One file is not a join. If a row shows an error, that codec failed — convert that clip to WAV first, or skip it.

  4. Reorder if the list is wrong

The first row plays first. Later clips are resampled to the first clip's sample rate so the join does not drift.

Export is one WAV. Later clips match the first clip's sample rate.

  5. Download one WAV

Export is WAV even if every source was MP3. Keep the originals until you have listened through.

  6. Play the file from start to end

Listen for a missing clip, a gap, or a pitch change at a join. If the order is wrong, move rows and export again. Do not send on the in-page list alone.

FAQ

Can I merge MP3 files free online?

Yes. Drop two or more on cv.cm audio joiner in this tab, reorder, download WAV. Nothing is uploaded.

Why is the download WAV, not MP3?

The joiner concatenates decoded PCM and writes WAV in the browser. If you need MP3, convert the WAV afterwards.

Do I need two files?

Yes. One clip is not a join. Add a second file or go to trim if you only need a slice.

Is the audio uploaded?

No. Closing the tab discards it.

Will this change the original files?

No. You download a new WAV. The MP3s on disk stay.
